Seacoast
at Sand River Resort is situated directly across
from the largest, freshest, and deepest of the
Great Lakes- Lake Superior. Whether you are planning
a summer, winter, autumn, or spring vacation,
the unrivaled beauty of this location is sure
to instill a sense of awe and calm within. These
ancient shores grant one with the opportunity
to reconnect with nature; reminding us of all
the beauty that is in our world.
During the winter months, the beach is transformed
into a desert of snow and ice mountains. The waters
of Superior roar and tumble with intensity, creating
what locals refer to as "ice volcanoes."
When the waves crash into these mountainous forms,
a geyser of frigid water bursts upon the newly-formed
range. Sunsets during this period are, truly a
must-see. The colorful lights of the drowsy sun
are reflected by the snow and water, enveloping
you in a disco of dancing pastels.

Though
the spring season of the Upper Peninsula is brief,
it is also beautiful. The mountains of snow and
ice dissipate, and bergs of floating ice can be
viewed as far as the horizon. On calm and misty
days, Superior becomes a vast mirror; the horizon
is nondescript and chunks of snow-caked ice appear
to be floating in a silver void.
Summer is undoubtedly one of the best times to
experience the majestic powers of Lake Superior
at Seacoast. A quick jaunt across a two-lane highway
brings you to a beach composed of "sugar"
sand. This unique sand cannot be compared to any
other beach sand. The sound of bare feet sauntering
through the granules of sand is enough to make
the soul euphoric. From this point on the beach,
it is possible to view portions of Marquette;
the Superior "Yooper" Dome is visible
on a clear day. During the evening the jutting
point becomes aglow with the lights of Marquette.
Given the proper conditions, the Aurora Borealis
or Northern Lights, can be observed towards the
North. The beach is ideal for campfire fun, roasting
marshmallows, and stargazing.
